Apple City BBQ

This place was great! To start our server Sonia was fantastic and took very good care of us! The ribs couldn’t have been any better! Brisket was stupid tender and jalapeno sausage...perfect...Great smoke flavor! Recommend the bbq cheese fries for appetizer. Great portions so you definitely won’t leave hungry!

This place was definitely a gem that I found. The atmosphere is like an old town dinner. They had indoor and outdoor seating which is nice on a pretty day. I highly recommend if you want good food for decent price. The menu wasn't overwhelming or extensive. Basic bbq place but had many awards on the wall. Bbq sliders and the brisket pimento cheese eggrolls were amazing. My son liked that he got 8 nuggets instead of 4 like most place.

Stopped by today and was not disappointed. The staff was extremely friendly, and the food was out of this world. This was some of the best bbq I have had in a long time. The brisket just about melted in my mouth and was full of flavor. Will definitely be back for a second round before I head back home to NY. Carolina didn’t disappoint!!! Wish I did better on the pics, but smelled so delicious I couldn’t wait to dive in..

Stopped in for a late lunch. Was greeted and seated promptly. Order was placed and we had it in less than 5 minutes. BBQ and the fixings were very good. The jalapeno lime sauce was our favorite. We will be returning on a regular basis.

Every once in a while we find a local TREASURE!! Our waitress, Sonia, took the time to explain each entree and the food was AMAZING!! The brisket pimento cheese egg rolls were unbelievably delicious, as well as the brisket, bbq and ribs. I don’t usually like sweet potato casserole due to too much sugar, but theirs was on point!! You gotta try this place!

The brisket was delicious . The Fries and the hush puppies were good. Didn’t like the barbecue chicken something was wrong with it and the Mac and cheese needs flavor. My son loved the sweet potato.

This is a BBQ "joint". Comfortable tables with essentials right there, sauces and paper towels. Warm reception and knowledgeable server. Ample servings and good sides. Loved the Jalapeno cheese grits. Only open Thur, Fri, and Sat. As a sign on their wall said, "BBQ is The Answer, We forgot the question." Well the question is why should I drive 35 miles to Taylorsville on a lazy Saturday afternoon when I could be at home watching USA vs France at the Olympics? DAMN GOOD BBQ! 1. Brisket was excellent 10. I had slices from the flat, but could have requested point. Tender and well seasoned; I think with just salt & pepper. Visible smoke ring and smokey aroma. I did not use any sauce or a knife & fork. 2. Pulled Pork was excellent 10. I like that the meat was not run through a big chopper/grinder that renders your product into mush. It was tender strands of smokey goodness that I added a little of the vinegar sauce to. 3. St Louis Ribs get a 9. Fall-off the bone tender with a dry rub. The rub was a little strong for me so I added the sweet sauce to bring it down. My son wanted to over-rule me and make it a 10, but I told him to write his own review. I think he was mad because I only left him one. 4. Smoked Pulled Chicken was not on my plate this time. I will try it soon, because I am going back.

Food was good. Service was great. We got the pimento cheese brisket egg rolls with ranch. Smoke then fried wings with their rub, the rub was a bit much but still good. Hubs got the chicken nachos. He enjoyed the sauces and the white slaw was very good. Only one complaint, the napkins are terrible. Eating wings you need a good napkin. But that’s not that big of a deal really.
